In the laboratory preparation of nitric acid, it can be obtained below 200C or above 200C, but the lower temperature is preferred. Give at least two reasons. [2 MARKS]

Any Two:
The lower temperature is preferred due to the following reasons:
(i) The glass apparatus may break at higher temperature.
(ii) Some quantity of nitric acid gets decomposed at higher temperature.
(iii) At higher temperature, potassium or sodium sulphate is formed, which cannot be easily removed from the apparatus.
