Most electropositive alkali metals occupy the peaks of the curve.

If we see the atomic mass vs atomic volume curve, we will notice the following features:

i) Alkali metals such as Na, K, Rb which have similar properties occur at peaks of the curve. He didn't mention alkaline earth metals.
