Question

In the multiplication table A8 × 3B = 2730, A and B represent distinct digits different from 0. Find A + B.

Open in App
Solution

A8 × 3B = 2730

Since the last digit of the multiplication A8 × 3B (= 2730) is zero, B = 0 or 5.

However, it is given that B ≠ 0.

∴ B = 5

Now, A8 × 3B = A8 × 35 = 2730

A8 = 78

A = 7

∴ A + B = 7 + 5 = 12
