In the previous video, a ray was drawn at an acute angle to the line segment. The ray cannot be drawn at which of the following angles to the line segment to divide it in a certain ratio?
0∘
180∘
The ray PM can be drawn at any angle to the line segment PQ other than angles 0∘ and 180∘.
If the ray PM is drawn at an obtuse angle to PQ, ∠PP4Q′ and ∠PP5Q become so small and makes the constructions difficult. So we generally draw the ray at an acute angle.
When the ray is drawn at angles 0∘ and 180∘ to PQ, there will be no triangle formed with the points on ray PM and segment PQ. So while dividing a segment in a given ratio, we can not draw the ray at angles 0∘ and 180∘.
