When you breathe in or,in hale your diaphragm contracts and moves downward.This increases the space in your chest cavity,into which lungs expand.As lungs expand ,air is sucked in through your nose.The air travels down you windpipe and lungs.When you breathe out ,or exhale, you diaphragm relaxes and moves upward into chest cavity.The muscles between ribs also relax to reduce the space in chest cavity,
