In the above reaction, Al is reductant while Fe is oxidant.

Oxidation no. of Al in transition state =0

Oxidation no. of Al in Al2O3=+3

No. of electrons transferred by 1Al atom =3

No. of electrons trnsferred by 8Al atoms =8×3=24 electrons

Hence, 24 electrons are transferred from reductant to oxidant.
