In the reactivity series,do metals below hydrogen also react with acids to form salts and evolve hydrogen

Solution
All metals do not react with acids to evolve hydrogen gas . Only those metals react which is more reactive than hydrogen . When metal reacts with acid it forms a salt which is basic in nature and releases hydrogen gas. . Most metals react with acids, but not all. The general equation that describes the chemical reaction between an acid and metal is metal + acid = salt + hydrogen gas.
