Find the acceleration of the block with the pulley.

$Mg-\frac{Mg}{2}=Ma$

Therefore,

$a=\frac{g}{2}\left(\hat{J}\right)$

Find the difference in acceleration

Since, the horizontal acceleration is same, difference is only along $y$-axis
