In the titration of the strong acid and weak base, the indicator used is Methyl orange.

Methyl Orange is an indicator that is used to indicate the equivalence point of the acid-base titration. In the acidic environment, it turns red and in the basic enyironment, or \(pH\) of 4.4 and higher, it turns yellow. It is prepared by treatment of helianthin with sodium hydroxide, helianthin is obtained by coupling diazotized sulphanilic acid with N, N - dimethylaniline
