Solution

The correct option is C Serosa, longitudinal muscle, circular muscle, submucosa, mucosa
The wall of the alimentary canal possesses four layers namely, serosa, muscularis, submucosa and mucosa. The muscularis is arranged into an inner circular and an outer longitudinal layer. The four layers show modifications in different parts of the alimentary canal. The outermost layer serosa is absent in the oesophagus. The submucosa of the intestine have glands like the Brunner’s gland. The mucosa is made up of epithelium. The epithelium in the mouth, pharynx, oesophagus and anal canal is made up of non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium whereas, the stomach and intestines are lined by simple columnar epithelium.
