Solution

The correct option is D

10

DI, LR, and Maths is 5 i.e, IIIMLD + IVMLDE = 5
Let IIIMLD be X and IVMLDE be 5 X
DI and Maths is 5 i.e, IIMD + IIIMDE + IIIMLD + IVMLDE = 5
Therefore, IIMD = IIIMDE = 0
DI and LR is 5 i.e, IILD + IIILDE + IIIMLD + IVMLDE = 5
Therefore, IILD = IIILDE = 0
Maths, LR, and English is 5 i.e, IIIMLE + IVMLDE = 5
Therefore, IIIMLE = X
Maths and LR is 20 i.e, IIML + IIIMLD + IIIMLE + IVMLDE = 20
Therefore, IIML = 15 X
LR and English is 20 i.e, IILE + IIILDE + IIIMLE + IVMLDE = 15
Therefore, IILE = 10
Maths and English is 30 i.e, IIME + IIIMLE + IIIMDE + IVMLDE = 30
Therefore,IIME =25
LetIIDE be Y
Therefore, IM = 10, IL = 8, ID = 17 Y, and IE = 10Y
IM + IL + ID + IE + IIML + IILD + IIDE + IIME + IIMD + IILE + IIIMLD + IIILDE + IIIMLE + IIIMDE + IVMLDE =100
Y = IIDE = 0
Therefore, IM = 10, IL = 8, ID = 17, and IE = 10

The number of aspirants who had qualified only in English = 10.
