Solution

The correct option is A M=3,E=9,A=7,T=8,S=4
From the information given in the question we know that when M,T are multiplied, it leaves S in the units place
Using this infor we can eliminate option A as in that option when M(=3),T(=4) are multiplied, it leaves 2 in the units place and not 8(S)
This condition holds true in the other options
Now if A,T are multiplied and the carry over from the multiplication of M,T is added, the end result must leave T in the units place
Using this information we can eliminate answer options C,D as well
In option C multiplication of M(=4),T(=7), gives a carry over of 2, which when added to 3 (the units digit of multiplication between A(=9),T(=7)) gives 5 in the units place and not 7(T)
Similarly in option D multiplication of M(=4),T(=7), gives a carry over of 2, which when added to 1 (the units digit of multiplication between A(=3),T(=7)) gives 3 in the units place and not 7(T)
Hence the answer is option B
