Solution

Gametes have a haploid number of chromosomes that are present for both the gametes. If the male gamete has 24 chromosomes, the female gamete also has 24 gametes. The zygote reestablishes 48 number of chromosomes by fusion of gametes to form a zygote.
So, the zygote has 48 number of chromosomes.
