Question

In triangle ABC, AB > AC and D is a point in side BC.
then, AB > AD.

If the above statement is true then mention answer as 1, else mention 0 if false

Here AB > AC and D is a point in side BC.
here AE is altitude,
So, As per Pythagorean Theorem,
AD2=AE2+ED2...........eq1
& AB2=AE2+EB2
AB2=AE2+(ED+DB)2........Eq2
So, As per eq1 & eq2 , it is clearly seen that
AB>AD
and any line starting from A inside the triangle ABC, on the base BC will be smaller then longest side.
Answer is 1
