In APQ and ABC,
line PQ side BC ...given
APQPBC ...corresponding angles
and AQPQCB ...corresponding angles
Also, PAQBAC ...common angle
APQABC .... by AAA test of similarity

APAB=AQAC=PQBC ( In a pair of similar triangles, the corresponding sides are proportional )

APAB=AQAC=510=12

AP=12AB and AQ=12AC
.
AP=12×8 and AQ=12×6

AP=4 cm and AQ=3 cm

So, option A is correct.
