The correct option is C $20$
Given:
$∠$ $B$ is $90$ $^{\circ}$
$a = 16$
$c = 12$

$∴$ using Pythagoras theorem
$a^{2} + c^{2} = b^{2}$

$16^{2} + 12^{2} = b^{2}$

$256 + 144 = b^{2}$

$400 = b^{2}$

$∴$ $b = 20.$
