Solution

The correct option is A Nitrolic acid

In Victor Meyer's test the alcohols are subjected to a series of operations given below. The final colour of solution indicates the nature of alcohol. Addition of NaOH simply increases the dissociation of nitrolic acid to increase the concentration of red coloured anions.

Victor Meyer's Test gives different compounds for different alcohols like nitrolic acid for primary alcohol, pseudonitriol for secondary alcohol etc. These respective productions on reaction with alkali gives different coloured compounds which helps us to determine the nature of alcohol.
