Solution

The long-chain carboxylic acids containing Ammonium (NH4+) or Sulphonate (RSO3-) salts are called detergents.

These detergents are used as washing powders for cleaning dirty and oily clothes.

The detergent is used in washing powders by weight 15-30%.

Sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) is used as a detergent filler. It keeps detergents dry.

The chemical used to keep the washing powder dry is Sodium silicate (Na2SiO3).
