Let the ratio be k:1.

Therefore, according to section formula :-

X=mx2+nx1/m+n

..using the formula...

Putting the values

11=7k+3/k+1

We get k=2

This means that the ratio is divided externally in the ratio 2:1..

Thus (11,18) is dividing (3,4) and (7,11) externally.
