From section formula, if (x,y) divides the line segments joining x1,y1 and x2,y2 internally in the ratio m:n then,

x = mx2+nx1m+n and y = my2+ny1m+n.

So, 2 = 4m+n(1)m+n,

3n = 2m

hence mn = 32 or m:n = 3:2
