Solution

Yellow spot:

  1. When an eye is looking directly at an object, light rays from that object are focused on the macula lutea.
  2. This is a yellow oval spot at the center of the retina (back of the eye).
  3. The yellow spot, also known as the macula, is the center of the eye and the sharpest sight place.

Blind spot:

  1. The blind spot is a tiny area at the back of each eye.
  2. The blind spot is the region where the optic nerve passes through the optic disk and out of the eyes.
  3. Also, it is at this very region that the blood vessels enter the eyes.
  4. It lacks photoreceptor cells (rods and cones) in the retina so the light falling at this spot does not form any image.
