Describe how this doctrine affected Latin America.
Solution: ‘Munroe Doctrine’ was formulated by the then President of the USA, James Munroe. As per this doctrine, no European colonies could be built in American continents, and that the US will not interfere in the affairs of Europe or colonies in the other continents.
This doctrine meant that the independence of Latin America from other European countries was clear. However, what was a bit different was that the USA was allowed to build up colonies in Latin America, thereby limiting the latter’s freedom. This doctrine, in many ways, served the USA’s interests over Latin America.
