Question

In which direction do gravitational force and frictional force act?

Open in App
Solution

Gravitational force is the attractive force of the earth which acts upon all the objects. It always acts in the downward direction, towards the centre of the earth.

Frictional force is the force resisting the relative motion of two surfaces sliding against each other. Therefore, it always acts in a direction opposite to the direction of relative motion of the object.
