Solution

The correct option is C Elephantiasis
Elephantiasis or filariasis is a disease caused by the helminth worm, Wuchereria bancrofti. It is transmitted through the bite of a culex mosquito. The worms invade and live for many years in the lymphatic vessels of the limbs, leading to chronic inflammation and swelling of the limbs.

Ringworm:
It is a very common skin infection caused by fungi. The infection initially appears as red patches on the affected areas, then spreads to different areas of the body affecting scalp, nails, feet, groin and beard. Transfer occurs from one person to another via contact with skin.

Ascariasis:
It is a disease caused by the roundworm, Ascaris lumbricoides.
Infection occurs through contaminated water, vegetables, fruits, etc.

Amoebiasis or amoebic dysentery:
It is an infectious intestinal disease which is caused by the protozoan Entamoeba histolytica. The pathogen enters the body through food or water contaminated with cysts.
