Copper:

  4. It is being reversibly oxidized from Cu+ to Cu2+ by the plants through redox reactions.
  5. It is a constituent of many enzymes like polyphenol oxidase, and ascorbic acid oxidase and plays an important role in plant metabolism.
  6. It is also an important component of plastocyanin which is involved in electron transport in photosynthesis.
