Haemoglobin is a globular protein present in the red blood corpuscles and acts as a respiratory pigment. Each haemoglobin molecule can bond with four molecules of oxygen.

Haemoglobin binds with four oxygen molecules and forms oxyhaemoglobin. Hence, haemoglobin is carried by the blood in the body as oxyhaemoglobin.
