Solution

Matter:

  • Anything that has a tendency to occupy the spaces, has some mass, and assume by the sensory organ called matter
  • Generally, the matter is of five types, Solid, Liquid, Gas, Plasma, and Bose-Einstein-condensate.

Solid:

  • A substance that has fixed volume, fixed shape & size
  • They have high intermolecular forces.
  • They have low intermolecular forces.

Liquid:

  • substance that has fixed volume but no fix in shape & size.
  • They have high intermolecular forces compared to the gas and lower than the solid.
  • They possess high intermolecular spaces compared to the solid and lower than the gas.

Gas:

  • The substance that has no fixed shape, size, and volume
  • Gas and liquid are considered fluids.
  • When external forces or stress are applied to the substances, they change their shape.
  • Gaseous particles have low intermolecular forces so that they gain the shape of the container.
  • Due to weak intermolecular force gases possess low densities.
