Solution

Carbon dioxide:

  • Carbon dioxide is the outcome of the cellular metabolism which is carried out in the body.
  • Carbon dioxide is fetched in the RBCs (red blood cells) more than about 75%, and the remaining are in the plasma.
  • Carbon dioxide is carried away in three major forms: hemoglobin, dissolved with a solution and buffered with water as carbonic acid.

Carbon dioxide transportation to the lungs through plasma:

  • Carbon dioxide is transported by the plasma to the lungs as the bicarbonates.
  • Most of the carbon dioxide in the human body is converted to carbonic acid, which quickly turns into bicarbonate.
