Dear Student, Elements to the left of the line are considered metals. Elements just to the right of the line exhibit properties of both metals and nonmetals and are termed metalloids or semimetals. Elements to the far right of the periodic table are nonmetals. Groups 13–16 of the periodic table contain one or more metalloids, in addition to metals, nonmetals, or both. Group 13 is called the boron group, and boron is the only metalloid in this group. The other group 13 elements are metals. Group 14 (Row) IVA has Carbon a non-metal Silicon and Germanium both metalloids and Tin and Lead both metals Group 15 (Row) VA has Nitrogen and Phosphorus both non-metals Arsenic and Antimony both metalloids and Bismuth a metal Group 16 (Row) VIA has Oxygen, Sulfur and Selenium all non-metals Tellurium a metalloid and Polonium a metals.
