Solution

Microorganisms are omnipresent in case of soil too however their distribution varies. The top layer of soil houses more number of microorganisms than the layers at the bottom. They play a vital role in nutrient cycling nature, soil formation, and soil fertility. Some forms symbiotic association with the plant roots. If there were no microorganisms in the soil it will certainly affect the cycling of matter in nature and the decomposition process.
