Solution

The correct option is A

For separating oil and water

Oil and water are immiscible. If a mixture of such liquids is allowed to stand for some time then they will form two separate layers. The heavier liquid settles down and lighter liquid floats on the surface. The component that forms the top layer can then be separated by decantation. While the heavier component settles down and cab be obtained by the process of sedimentation.
