Solution

The correct option is C [Fe(H2O)6]Cl3
Let Fe has x oxidation state
In Fe(NO3)2: x2(+1)=0,x=+2
In FeC2O4: x2=0,x=+2
In [Fe(H2O)6Cl3]: x+6(0)+3(1)=0,x=+3
In (NH4)2SO4.FeSO4.6H2O: x2=0,x=+2 (In (NH4)2SO4.FeSO4.6H2O for calculation of oxidation state we would only consider FeSO4)
So in option C iron has an oxidation state of +3.
