In which of the following layers of the earth do the tremors, responsible for an earthquake, occur?
Crust
Earthquakes are caused by tremors. These tremors are caused by a disturbance deep inside the uppermost layer of the earth surface called the crust.
The interior of the Earth is layered in spherical shells, like an onion.
The Earth is made up of four distinct layers:
i. The inner core is at the center and is the hottest part of the Earth.
ii. The outer core is the layer surrounding the inner core.
iii. The mantle is the widest section of the Earth that comes next to the crust.
iv. The crust is the outer layer of the earth.
