Solution

The correct option is A Parotid gland
There are 3 salivary glands- parotid gland, submandibular gland and sublingual gland.
Parotid is the largest salivary gland found near the ears. It has the Stenson’s duct which opens into the vestibule. It contributes 10% saliva in the mouth when not eating and 25% saliva in the mouth while eating.
Submandibular gland is also known as the submaxillary gland. It is located at right angles to the lower jaw. It is the second largest salivary gland. It contains the Wharton’s duct. It contributes 70% of the saliva (maximum).
Sublingual salivary gland is found below the tongue. It is the smallest salivary gland. It contains the duct of Rivinus. It contributes 5% of the saliva.
