The correct option is D Punjab and Haryana
The main characteristic of this type of farming is the use of higher doses of modern inputs, e.g. high yielding variety (HYV) seeds, chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides in order to obtain higher productivity. The green revolution primarily occurred in these states, and with it primary focus was on increasing the yield to maximum possible extent. This led to usage of HYV seeds, fertilizers and all the other modern agricultural inputs which increase the productivity of land. Consequently, commercial farming is practiced to a very high extent in these states.
