The below table gives the details of the location of black soil and various other soils found in India.

Types of Soil Location
Black Soil Black soil is found in the plateaus of Saurashtra, Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra. It extends in the South East direction along Krishna and Godavari river valleys. It is found in some parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat.
Alluvial Soil It is found in the Entire Northern Plains. It is found in the Eastern Coastal plains in deltas of Kaveri, Krishna, Godavari and Mahanadi rivers. Alluvial soil also extends in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Arid Soils This type of soil is usually found in Western Rajasthan.
Laterite Soils Laterite soils are usually found in South Indian states, some parts of North Eastern states, West Bengal, Odisha, Western ghats region of Maharashtra.
Forests Soils This is found in the Mountainous and hilly areas having the required amount of rain forests.
Red and Yellow Soils This type of soil is found in the piedmont zone of the Western Ghats, Southern parts of Middle Ganga plain, Southern and Eastern parts of Deccan Plateau. They are also found in parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Saline Soils It is majorly found in Rann of Kuchchh in Western Gujarat, Sunderban areas of West Bengal, Deltas of the Eastern Coast. In India in areas where intensive cultivation had taken place due to over irrigation, fertile alluvial soils are becoming saline.
Peaty Soil It occurs in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Orissa, West Bengal, Southern parts of Uttaranchal, Northern part of Bihar.
