1. Tropical evergreen forest are dense forests are found in areas having tropical climate, in areas having more than 200 cm of rainfall.
2. They are evergreen and do not shed their leaves in any part of the year and highly dense , multilayered in nature.
3. They exceed 60 metres in height.
4. In India, for instance tropical evergreen forests are found in :
a. Western slopes of western ghats.
b. Lakshadweep
c. Andaman and Nicobar islands
5. Some of the important trees found are ebony, rosewood.
6. Common animals found are elephants, monkey, lemur and deer​
7. These tropical evergreen forests are home to many of the indigenous tribes who are basically hunter gatherers .
8. These people are also engaged in collecting forest related products like honey, feathers etc.
9. With regard to cultivation, these forests are rich repository of many products like sugarcane, banana, mango, honey,coffee, chocolate, papaya.
