Open in App
Solution

Prophase:

  1. Chromosome condensation occurs during the prophase.
  2. Mitosis takes place in four major phases- prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
  3. Prophase is the first stage of mitosis which is also indicated by the word 'pro' which means before.
  4. During prophase, chromosomes get condensed and appear in X-shaped structures.
  5. At the end of the prophase, the nuclear membrane starts becoming less prominent, releasing the chromosomes.
