Mushroom shaped glands are present in the male reproductive system of cockroaches. Due to its shape, the gland is called mushroom gland . It consists of two parts – utriculi majors and utriculi breviores. The secretion of utriculi majors forms the covering of spermatophores (mass of sperms) .The secretions of utriculi breviores nourishes the sperms. The mushroom gland is located in the 6th - 7th abdominal segments.
