Direct injury:

Indirect injury:

  1. The insects in indirect injury do no or little harm but transmit viral, bacterial, and fungal infections into the plants.
  2. Examples include aphids, bugs, etc

Suckers:

  1. Insects like aphids, whiteflies, true bugs, etc are sap-feeding insects that suck the cell sap from various parts of the whole plant.
