Solution

The correct option is A

Arrhenotoky

Parthenogenesis is most simply defined as reproduction without fertilization. More specifically, it occurs when a female gamete develops a new individual without being fertilized by a male gamete. The best example of parthenogenesis is in the hymenopterans, the taxonomic order to which honeybees, wasps and ants belong. Here males of the species develop by a specific type of parthenogenesis called arrhenotoky. Arrhenotoky is seen in haplodiploid organisms, here males develop from unfertilised eggs and are haploid, and females develop from fertilised eggs. Thelytoky is a type of parthenogenesis in which females are produced from unfertilized eggs, as for example in aphids. Deuterotoky is when parthenogenetic reproduction can give rise to both genders, male and female.
