Solution

The correct option is C

alcohol and carbon dioxide

During anaerobic respiration there is incomplete breakdown of sugar. Pyruvic acid produced through glycolysis is converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide with the help of enzymes. This is called as fermentation. Anaerobic respiration occurs in yeasts and some bacteria. Our muscle cells during strenuous exercise also perform anaerobic respiration.
