Dear Student,
India has an integrated judiciary. This means that the judicial system in India works as an integrated system with a hierarchy among courts. The Supreme court is at the top, the high courts in the states comes after that and the district courts form lowest tier. Judgements by district courts can be appealed in the high court of that state, while judgements by a high court can be appealed in the supreme court. Higher courts have the authority to overrule the judgement of lower courts.
