Let the number of matches lost be $x$
The number of matches won = $x+4$
Total matches played = $x+x+4$
We have, $x+4=\frac{3}{5}(2x+4)$
$\Rightarrow 5(x+4)=3(2x+4)$
$\Rightarrow 5x+20=6x+12$
$\Rightarrow 6x-5x=20-12$
$\Rightarrow x=8$
$\therefore$ Total matches played = $x+x+4$
= $8+8+4$
=$20$
