Question

Individual homozygous ab genes were crossed with wild type (++) in Drosophila. The F1 hybrid produced were test crossed. The progenies produced were:
++ = 900
ab = 600
+a = 115

Solution

The correct option is D 13MU
Number of recombinants
= 115 + 105 = 220

Total number of progenies
= 900 + 600 + 115 + 105 = 1720

Recombination frequency (RF)
= (Total No. of recombinants / Total No. of progeny) 🗙100

= (220/1720) X 100

= 12.79 map unit or 13 MU.
