Clone is the term used for the newly formed offspring/individual by the process of asexual reproduction, which are similar genetically as well as morphologically. Not only are they similar to each other but also they are exact copies of their parents. Plants and animals with relatively simple body organisation and single-celled organisms exhibit an asexual mode of reproduction where the offsprings are copies of their asexually reproducing parent. In asexual reproduction, a single parent is capable of producing offspring, there are various types of asexual reproduction observed like fission, fragmentation, regeneration, vegetative propagation, etc.
