Initial speed, u=1 km/s=1000 m/s
Final speed, v=9 km/s=9000 m/s
By using the relation
v2=u2+2as
(9000)2=(1000)2+2×a×4
a=107m/s2
the time for which the particle remains in the tube
v=u+at
or t=vua=90001000107
=8×104s.
