Yes , Mendeleev suggestion was correct . Because First we have taken hydrogen as the standard to find the masses of different elements but it didn't give us the correct value of masses of different elements . Then we have taken oxygen as our standard then we face the same problem . At last we have taken 12 isotope of carbon a our standard By This we get the correct value of masses of different elements.
