Inorganic oxides of sulphur, nitrogen, etc. react with water vapour in the atmosphere to form weak inorganic acids leading to acid rain.
Inorganic oxides such as sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, etc. react with water vapour in the atmosphere to form acids like nitrous acid, sulphurous acid, nitric acid, sulphuric acid etc. which fall down during precipitation in the form of acid rain. Acid rain can cause skin irritation and alter the pH of soil. It also has degrading effects on buildings and plants.
