A shunt (small resistance) is connected in parallel with galvanometer to current into ammeter,
a low resistance is connected in parallel to galvanometer to make it ammeter because by parallel connection with a low resistance the net resistance becomes more lower hence all of current goes through it , and the device becomes able to measure more accurate values of currents in circuit.
